This Privacy Policy explains how AI Rank Inspector collects, processes, stores and protects information when you use the AI Rank Inspector Chrome extension, website and optional emailed PDF report service.

AI Rank Inspector is designed to audit webpages for observable SEO, Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) signals.

1. What AI Rank Inspector Does

AI Rank Inspector analyses a webpage selected by the user and provides diagnostic scores, evidence and recommendations.

Depending on the page and audit settings, the extension may review:

• Page titles and meta descriptions
• Canonical and indexability signals
• Headings and visible webpage content
• Internal and external links
• Images and alternative text
• Structured data and schema markup
• Open Graph and social metadata
• Public robots.txt and optional llms.txt files
• Topic, keyword and entity coverage
• Content structure and readability
• Direct-answer formatting
• Citations, authorship and trust signals

AI Rank Inspector only analyses a webpage after the user deliberately starts an audit.

It does not continuously monitor browsing activity or collect a complete history of websites visited.

2. Information Processed During a Standard Audit

Standard webpage audits run locally inside the user’s Chrome browser.

During an audit, the extension may process:

• The URL and domain of the selected webpage
• Visible webpage text
• Page metadata and headings
• Links, images and schema markup
• Public robots.txt and llms.txt information
• The topic entered by the user
• The selected content type
• Audit scores, evidence, findings and recommendations

This information is necessary to provide the user-requested SEO, AEO and GEO audit.

Standard audit information is not transmitted to the AI Rank Inspector report server unless the user deliberately requests an emailed PDF report.

3. Chrome Permissions

AI Rank Inspector may use the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab

Provides temporary access to the webpage selected by the user after they open the extension or start an audit.

scripting

Allows packaged extension code to inspect the rendered webpage for the audit. The extension may read metadata, headings, links, images, visible text and structured data.

sidePanel

Displays the audit interface, scores, evidence and recommendations beside the webpage being reviewed.

storage

Stores limited extension settings and temporary audit state locally in Chrome.

AI Rank Inspector does not use these permissions for advertising, unrelated profiling or passive browsing surveillance.

4. Information Stored Locally

The extension may use Chrome storage to remember:

• The most recently selected audit mode
• The entered topic
• The entered URL
• The selected content type
• Temporary audit results or interface state
• The browser tab associated with an audit

This information is stored locally to operate the extension and improve continuity between interface actions.

Users can remove locally stored extension information by:

• Uninstalling AI Rank Inspector
• Clearing the extension’s stored data through Chrome
• Resetting the extension where that option is available

5. Optional Emailed PDF Reports

The emailed PDF report feature is optional.

When a user requests a PDF report and provides consent, AI Rank Inspector may securely transmit the following information to the report service at reports.airankinspector.com:

• Email address
• Optional name
• Audited webpage URL
• Entered or inferred topic
• Selected content type
• Audit scores
• Audit evidence, findings and recommendations
• Technical request information required for security, delivery and rate limiting

Technical request information may include information automatically generated by the hosting infrastructure, such as:

• IP address
• Browser or user-agent information
• Request date and time
• Delivery or request status

This information is used only to:

• Generate the requested PDF report
• Deliver the report by email
• Prevent spam, abuse and excessive automated requests
• Investigate failed report generation or delivery
• Respond to support requests
• Maintain the security and reliability of the report service

The report form presents a disclosure and requires the user’s affirmative consent before report information is submitted.

6. No Automatic Marketing Subscription

Requesting a PDF report does not automatically subscribe the user to marketing or promotional emails.

Marketing or product-update communications require a separate signup and separate consent.

7. Early-Access and Website Forms

When a user joins the AI Rank Inspector early-access list or submits a website form, AI Rank Inspector may collect:

• Email address
• Name, when provided
• Form message or feedback
• Information voluntarily included by the user
• Basic technical request information needed for security and form delivery

This information is used to:

• Send requested product-launch or early-access updates
• Respond to enquiries
• Provide customer support
• Investigate reported problems
• Prevent spam and misuse

Information collected through an early-access form is separate from information processed during a standard webpage audit.

8. Service Providers

AI Rank Inspector currently uses Hostinger for services that may include:

• Website hosting
• Report-server hosting
• Database or file storage
• Form processing
• Email delivery
• Security and operational logging

Service providers may process information only where necessary to provide hosting, report generation, email delivery, security or support-related services.

AI Rank Inspector does not authorise service providers to use extension data for their own advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.

9. How Information Is Shared

AI Rank Inspector does not sell personal information.

Information may be shared only:

• With service providers necessary to operate the extension, website or report service
• When the user asks AI Rank Inspector to provide support involving specific submitted information
• When necessary to investigate fraud, abuse or security incidents
• When required by applicable law, legal process or a valid government request
• As part of a merger, acquisition or transfer of business assets, subject to appropriate safeguards

AI Rank Inspector does not use or transfer user data for:

• Personalised advertising
• Retargeting
• Creating advertising profiles
• Selling browsing information
• Purposes unrelated to the extension’s disclosed functionality
• Determining creditworthiness or eligibility for lending

10. Human Access

Authorised personnel may access report-request, form or support information only when necessary to:

• Resolve a report-generation or email-delivery problem
• Respond to a user’s support request
• Investigate security incidents or misuse
• Maintain the service
• Comply with a legal obligation

Standard locally processed webpage audits are not manually reviewed by AI Rank Inspector personnel.

Webpage content and audit information are not reviewed manually for advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.

11. Data Retention

Locally stored extension information remains in Chrome until it is cleared, replaced or removed when the extension is uninstalled.

PDF report information and related operational records are retained only for the time necessary to:

• Generate and deliver the requested report
• Investigate delivery failures
• Prevent abuse
• Resolve support requests
• Meet legal or security obligations

Report information is retained for up to 30 days, unless a longer period is necessary for an active support request, security investigation or legal obligation.

Early-access information is retained until the user unsubscribes, requests deletion or the early-access communication purpose ends.

Support correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request and maintain appropriate records.

12. Data Security

Information transmitted to AI Rank Inspector services is sent using HTTPS.

AI Rank Inspector uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information and report data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss.

However, no internet transmission, browser extension or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users should not submit passwords, payment information, confidential business records or other highly sensitive information through report or support forms.

13. User Choices and Data Deletion

Users may request access to or deletion of personal information associated with:

• An emailed PDF report
• An early-access signup
• A support request
• A website form submission

• The approximate date of the report or form submission
• The audited URL, when relevant
• A brief description of the information to be located

AI Rank Inspector may request reasonable verification before processing a request to prevent unauthorised deletion or disclosure.

14. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

AI Rank Inspector’s use of information received through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Information accessed through Chrome permissions is used only to provide or improve the webpage-audit, security, support and optional report-delivery features described in this policy.

AI Rank Inspector does not use Chrome API data for personalised advertising, unrelated profiling or purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose.

15. Children’s Privacy

AI Rank Inspector is intended for website owners, marketers, content professionals, developers and other professional users.

The service is not designed to collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the service, contact support@airankinspector.com so the information can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

16. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when AI Rank Inspector’s features, service providers, legal obligations or data practices change.

When a change materially affects how user information is collected, used or shared, AI Rank Inspector will provide an appropriate notice and obtain consent where required.
